We are two normal guys that are not willing to give up, or settle. Family men, fathers, friends. An Army reservist building a company from deployment. A grad student working full-time with an idea to change the way we eat.
We believe that having food-chain transparency is crucial to eating nutrient dense, healthy food. We believe that those who provide the foods we consume should be celebrated and compensated.
We love our country and believe there should be a better way to provide food for your family.

Nicholas White
Co-Founder & CEO
The idea for Hunt and Gather came out of frustration at how broken our food system is-and the fact that I couldn’t find fresh, local food without spending most of my weekend bouncing between farmers markets. Real food shouldn’t be this hard to find, and it definitely isn’t grown in a lab and shipped across the country to sit on a shelf. I spend my free time outdoors wrangling my three kids, trying not to get tapped out in Jiu Jitsu and making sure my wife gets her beach time. I have an MBA from the University of Florida and I forget my reusable bags 100% of the time.
Johnathan Sorenson
Co-Founder & COO
Lover of the outdoors, big engines, and anything that launches a projectile. If it shoots, rolls, or rumbles – I’m in. I split my time between the woods, the water, and winding roads on my Indian (motorcycle type). Army guy at heart (ask me about the M1 Abrams), Jeep is always topless, and weekends are for camping or snorkeling with my son. Proud husband and girl dad, doing my best to keep up with my amazing wife and daughter. Also, I train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu poorly but I show up, get choked, and keep coming back.
